Clipping your horse's ears can make them look elegant and groomed. However, be careful when clipping the inside of the ear because the inside hairs protect them from insects.
1. Clean your horse's ear with a soft brush or a clean rag.
2. Get your clipper ready, making sure it is oiled and the blades are sharp. Start by holding one of your horse's ears in one hand, the clipper in the other. Gently press the ear together, so that the edges meet (see image).
Start clipping the hairs that stick out over the edges from the bottom up. Repeat several times until the edges look neat and even. When done, brush any hair out of the horse's ear.

Your horse's ears should now look neatly trimmed and still have enough hair inside the ears to provide insect protection.
